Hey, my husband got me to watch your videos. Honestly love this and the Bob Marley video so much. These are seriously great topics. Keep up the great work. Just subbed. Much love ❤✌

I remember the double or triple cd called "Crystal Ball" being his first foray into using the internet through his website to get all revenue from it and none going to Warner Brothers. I was fortunate enough to see his "Jam of the Year" tour concert and it was amazing. I also remember the huge "Black Album" controversy. 1987-88 is a good example of his battles with WB. He made the Black album, Sign o' the Times(my favorite and best cd imo) and LoveSexy during that period. Although he irked me with the Lovesexy cd, because you couldn't skip or replay songs. Something he did in the production process made it so you had to listen to it as one complete work. Quirky-lol. Prince allegedly had either one or two hip replacement surgeries so if true that could explain the opioid issues. I mean jumping off 5-10 feet platforms on stage in heels for more than 20 years had to be tough on the hips. Plus he was a slender and small man.

"When Doves Cry" and seeing that video made me a prince "fan." Would love seeing it on Friday Night Videos and later on MTV. The Revolution was very progressive and the band members diversity of ethnicity and gender built upon what Sly and the Family Stone did. You had that sort of wink wink lesbian dynamic with Wendy and Lisa and band members Brown Mark, Bobby Z and Dr. Fink. But I like his Lovesexy band the best with Eric Leeds, Sheila E, Cat and the many great musicians in that band. I have a huge Prince  collection of magazines(covered in plastic or mylar bags),  some comic books, a tour program and  books that spanned his career. True Prince had many explicit songs. "Darling Nikki," was the song that motivated Tipper Gore to go to Congress and ultimately started Parental advisory stickers to be put on all "controversial" music. Her daughter had the Purple Rain album. It's funny to picture her blasting Purple Rain in the mansion of a Politician who was in office at that time.

I see why you make a differentiation between his music and lyrics. Prince is the most talented musician I've ever heard and the cat played about 20 different instruments brilliantly with what appeared to be such ease. Miles Davis, who wasn't quick to give props, raved about how he never missed a beat. The two worked together. I think they had that Gemini artist energy connection going on a significant level. I remember the Mountains video and song. I liked seeing Wendy playing Prince's white custom made guitar in that white toga on top of Lisa's white piano. "Mountains," was on the Parade album which was the official soundtrack to Under the Cherry Moon. Purple Rain, the movie, had fictionalized parts. Its my understanding that his mother wasn't European or Latina like the actress was in the movie nor did his father shoot himself. Prince loved to keep people guessing and morph into alter egos like Bob George, Camille, The Kid, Spooky Electric etc. Wonderful and entertaining video!
