If the light is not close enough to the plants, that could be a factor why the plants are not that spectacular, I could even see that the plant is reaching which is when the the plant grows longer at a faster rate to get closer to the sun light

Auto Flowers start budding on their own, thats wut makes them unique. Ur plants look healthy so Ur doing sumthing rite!!! For me, the HEALTH of my plants is #1. But I'm sure ur goal like the rest of us is more YIELD. I would focus on the buds that are forming and try to bulk those up with lots of light. The plants will grow a little more before harvest time.
