Wish to find more landrace. Californians ruined US weed by breeding too much THC.

    I am from Aceh (Indonesia)

I grow local sativa landrace indoor.

true you say, it is very difficult to grow indoors.

very long flowering and its height 3x when flowering

Landrace sativa… Even though the THC content may not have been as high the actual effect was far more psychoactive. This type of weed from the 70s and early 80s was magical. It was fun to smoke. the munchies and giggling were off the charts you could go into a daydream state. There was also hashish that was made from it that was incredibly psychoactive. Today's hybrid and indicas taste great and look great and smell great but the actual effect is nowhere near as magical.

49th parallel genes are the only landrace worth a shit,I’ve got a few that make all these trendy modern stains look like tobacco alltho my skunk#1 (1981)from s.s.s.c is a headcracker,

Finally someone else seeing that landrace is so important to keep around working with some original island strains

I once grew a strain that had purple hairs and smelled like artificial grape bubblegum. It was from a friend's dad old seeds collection.

After a week of that particular seed not germinating I scraped the surface of the shell on sandpaper and put it back in the moist paper towel. It popped the next day.

    Seek out these old seeds!

  15. Born2Blaze says:

The difference is nature nurtures landrace while modern is man influenced.

  16. David Williams says:

I feel like modern weed doesn't have the oldschool taste or feel.

Hi… Long time smoker and grower…. The new genetics are out of this world in terms of flavour and yield, but I'm sat here now smoking some of the best Thai brick I've had in the 15yearz I've been coming here and this stuff is unbelievable (yes seeds stems the lot!) but my God…. Yes something is missing from these new genes, the high u get out here is out of this world (literally) the new genetics have been inbred crossbred and backbred to get the things what the market wants (stink and strong) but we've lost the stuff what makes u really high…

Good video and thanks for sharing..

    Go natural people…. U won't regret it ✌️

I have been growing since 1992 and I have always had landrace varieties in my line up as well as high THC Hybrids.. I started out growing Northern Lights #5 and Williams wonderland and I grew these two varieties exclusively for 2 1/2 to 3 years then I began to buy seeds from hybrid vareties and growing them out and comparing them to the landrace varieties and I found that my Landrace strains especially Northern Lights #5 to have a better all around buzz over the hybrids in spite of the fact most of the hybrids had a significantly higher THC content. I believe this is true because the stabilized landrace varieties had a good combination of cannabinoids not just a high THC content . In the past 15 years I have grown hybrids with such a high THC content that they definitely have a more potent buzz but I feel that some of these had a buzz so potent they were debilitating… I have been breeding and crossing strains for about 15 years as well and if someone was planning on breeding marijuana crosses for seed production I would recommend starting with a Northern Lights #5 F1 Hybrid and crossing it with the hybrid strain of your choosing and your choice of hybrid will vary depending on what you want the end result of the cross to be. i.e. if you want short plants with a relatively short flowering time then pick a hybrid with those characteristics and remember a Landrace Hybrid cross will have multiple phenotypes to choose from so you simply choose which Phenotype most displays the characteristics you are looking for and isolate said phenotypes growing both make and female plants breeding them and repeating this process of elimination until you finally have a somewhat stabilized strain that produces a uniform phenotype that displays the characteristics you desire . The reason I choose Northern Lights #5 as my Landrace variety(some say this strain is not a true Landrace but at the least it is a stabilized strain)is because it is pest resistant. It can handle alot more fertilizer without toxic nutrient over dose on the other hand you can use alot less fertilizer and it still grows very well and this gives new growers alot of wiggle room when determining the right fertilizer regiment. It is also very resistant to fungus. Keep in mind I grow multiple strains of bud both Landrace and Hybrid as well as both Sativa and Indica and many crosses in between but my favorite strains for taste and buzz as well as duration of high and how quick the high hits you is definitely my Norther lights #5 Hybrid crosses but this is only my opinion and to each his own . I also never grow autoflower(ruderalis is ditchweed) I also stay away from feminized seeds. I have bred my own feminized seeds using an alternate light cycle during flowering and I have grown these with a varying degrees of success and I guess they are fine if your just gonna grow it for smoke but I would never use autoflower or feminized seeds for breeding. Again it's all about what you want as a grower/breeder….

So glad to have found this channel! I have always favoured sativa over indica and now that it is legal to grow in my country I'm so stoked to be growing and starting with sativa. Laughing buddha fem photo to be exact. I was worried that my plants were lagging, looking at some of the pics in grps I'm in of the indica dom autos, totally blowing past my tiny plants in growth aspects. I'm determined to grow sativa and not afraid to fail ^_^ <3 Thank you for sharing!

  34. Mitch says:

We have to save the Landrace strains. No doubt the old and new hybrids are great but for some old school dudes I know including myself there is nothing that beats old school Colombian Gold. Hopefully with so many country’s going legal maybe can save the old landraces. Keep up the good work bro.

  35. Alex Mendoza says:

Something about that weed that was around before widespread legalization. I tended to laugh a heck of a lot more and even though it had lots of seeds, it still lit me up and I always loved the sativa like high I'd always get. Then this new "indica" stuff came around that always just made me sleepy and no cerebral stimulation…. over the years I have learned to appreciate indica but it has to be hybrid unless I aim to treat a case of insomnia

I think the weed in Jamaica grown in the west is some of the strongest and tastiest weed you could smoke and that includes hybrids. Why is it that we dont see much crosses of weed from Jamaica?

  40. Dee Gee says:

I'm tired of seeing gelato crossed with this or zkittles crossed with that. Seems like these breeders are running out of ideas and getting lazy
