Would you hold a different opinion on other prescription drugs children get if we were to call ritalin/adderal medical cocaine? or vicodin and oxycodone medical heroin? If the child actually has a need for it then give it to him, you can't say well we can't treat him because he's a kid. We prescribe much more dangerous drugs to really young kids.

The doctors that don't suggest are just narrow minded and stuck in the fear campaign days. Side effects of Marijuana? Compared to what the side effects of the synthetic heroin they prescribe every day? Or how you cant take a sleeping pill without "risk of suicide" "heart failure" "coma or death" Marijuana, your so scary.
As if all the drugs out there went through long trials before letting kids take them long term…and then some are pulled off the market even with the 'rigorous' trials.
Yes, there's not much research. But cannabis has been used as a medicine for thousands of years – maybe that should tell us something.

I repeat myself here. Backward thinking people in places where decisions are made will have a lot to answer for. They are allowing people to suffer and die that could be helped using cannabis as a medicine. Change it to at least schedule 2, allow extensive research, and then realize the whore of cannabis prohibition is actually a beautiful virgin.
I have news for the good doctor. Severe illnesses also have long term effects and death associated with them. Use a little logic. Cannabis is benign as to causing death. Got it?
Agreed, and hey, I am in Oklahoma….not necessarily regarded as very "forward" thinking state. I believe in my heart that when the truth of the miraculous power of this plant, given to us by God, a lot of people are going to rightfully be pissed off. I can honestly say that I have never used it at all, but will wholeheartedly, in fear and trembling before God, promote it as truly a fabulous natural medicine…along with many other uses.

The Irony is people are against cannbis for children yet are fine with the Drug Topomax. That drug has brutal side effects and even killed people. Anti convulsants are far worse than any possible cannbis side effects. Yet no one points that out
