Marijuana smell is a probable cause for a search, so they do not need a warrant nor your consent. Do not agitate the officers with "you don't have the right…" as most will let you go if you don't posses a large quantity of it. Of course the marijuana will be confiscated.

There was a Supreme Court ruling stating police can not "smell weed" unless more than one window is open. It's why they come on both sides of the car, and you will see they will want you to roll down both windows. Don't, just one window rolled down about 4 inches , that's it, then they can not legally smell weed.
If they smell weed that's probably cause which allows them to search you without consent
In many states police are legally aloud to search your vehicle if it smells dank, so be careful, definitely read up on your own states laws on traffic stops and in some states refusing a police command is enough to be detained

If you know you want to amok bring half an ounce in your car… if you are craving maybe an ounce… take the long way to where you are going the cops know the places that people drive so ask your dealer or a friend where they go and if there are ever cops there… when you know the cops aren't around smoke it all up then you are good… don't ever refuse a pat down (unless you have something on you, joint/weed) ask the cop if you are being detained… though he can search your car if he wants to so if you can smell weed and have weed in the car just tell him you have weed… in his police report he might cut you some slack (like saying you had a quarter ounce or something like that) trust me cops can kill you or save you with that report
