I've had the sickness too and it lasts forever for sure. It's like a one point you feel like you are over it and then it hits you again with round two that's even worse than the first part.
I'm starting to feel a bit better again but it's taken a long time. And I'm pretty sure I wasn't quite as bad as you so hang in there.
As far as ships on the coast, they are there all the time and so are subs. Why they made such a big deal out of this I'll never know.
