80W tdp for 6/12 cores while amd ryzen has 65W tdp for 6/12 cores
we don't care about a 300$ motherboard when a 100$ one will perform just like it, but with less rgb.
"Coffee Lake" You will need a lot of COFFEE wile you figure out a way to turn that LAKE into a water cooler?
The options opening up to Intel owners like me who built small with i5-7500 or 7600K are looking up. We will get to keep our motherboards and make the upgrade really worth moving up in cores.
I don't overclock so Ryzen always had limited appeal. My H270F would be hard to part with, it's so easy to work with.
The low power 80w that runs at 3.1 but turbos all 6 cores to 3.9 would be a quantum leap in system resources. This is assuming Asus gives the H270 an UEFI update.
It's just too little too late for intel at this point.
I am AMD however anyone Intel should stay with old i7 for now. Give till late this year or early next to buy Intel…

Ryzen has it right in so many ways. No more overly expensive motherboards just to overclock. Cheap chipset with quality parts for overclocking starting at $70 USD. No more K series tax and bullshit. No more dual cores and quad cores, 6 and 8 cores at the prices they SHOULD be at in this day and age. I dont care what technology Intel wants to put into their dual and quad cores, why we still at these core counts after 12+ years? Man I have so much respect for AMD for what they did with Ryzen.
Coffee Lake would be exciting, expect it probably uses the same Mesh interconnect system as Skylake-X, which is simply not as good as the Infinity Fabric in Ryzen. I don't expect anything great.
All I care about is if the CPU will be backwards compatible with my Z170 motherboard.
