Las Vegas has twisted rules, we can grow it .. IF we live at least 25 miles from the nearest working dispensary. Vegas is only 30 miles from end to end.. so unless you live out In the sticks the growing aspect doesn’t help the locals . Super over priced in Vegas to compared to every other states that have recreational use

The grow your own issue is the problem with legalizing weed. To allow people to do this is to give rise to crime and pot dealing empires. In California you can have 6 plants per every 21 year old in the house. 4 people can have 24 females with big jucy buds maybe 6-8 ounces per indoor plant right? We can not trust other people to not try to steal that ok? That's crime is it not? Plus they would almost always have guns right? What if it didn't get stolen? It's still not being trusted that people under age wouldn't get it. That much weed would always be some of it sold on the black market un taxed. The grow your own issue is a Fu#k up let's be honest. I can grow and been busted for it but I have to be honest about this.

Can't grow in Maryland even if you are a patient. It's to keep the money flowing thru the dispensary which is taxed. Home growers don't pay taxes on it

I'm from Colorado. Welcome to the compromises of legalization. As glad as I am that we legalized, many of the regulations are BULLSHIT. Restrictions on edible strength, the insane taxes, the fact that cannabis businesses can't get bank accounts, no coffee shop type system where adults can legally smoke somewhere other than their private property(which not everyone has), the list goes on. Not to mention that to get REALLY excellent weed, you pretty much still have to go to the black market. As cool as it may be in some ways, the system is really pretty fucking ridiculous.

Its illegal because they aren't making money off it. In some places yes. In most places no. Beer, cigarettes, pills, etc are all legal because they make a lot of money from them, whether it be from the taxes or from people being hospitalized or even incarcerated.

I live in Alabama. Weed is illegal here. I suffer from chronic pain and can't help myself because the pain is so high I can't work and have no insurance. Since weed is illegal here, I obviously can't grow it to get the relief from pain I need. If I could, I would be more productive.

I use Cannabis often as a healthy male in my 40s and it helps me deal with life and its complexity. I can be conscious and reprogram my mind easily. I practice being productive while optimizing my existence, being healthy and creative and it is a lifestyle I choose. Recently I have had a few terrible experiences with US law enforcement while travelling and falling into the stigmatization of cannabis by such an ignorant and paranoid policy which borders between the sociopathic and the psychotic. The fact that I have been ridiculed, chastised, humiliated, and terribly limited from travelling to the US to continue my professional career and see friends and family of which has seriously affected how I develop my life and the quality of my research that I wish to develop and leave as a legacy to the world as my creativity transcends towards our future generations. Not only that, but it has traumatized me to my core and made me want to boycott everything American and/or come here and rant to the world how screwed up things are. I realize it is not the people´s fault yet people who judge me or allow policies that disrespect my lifestyle I will not tolerate since there is no place for such attitudes in my world where the golden rule and basic human principles dominate. I am not advocating giving drugs to kids, I am just asking for a measure of consistency, reason and respect as adults with ALL your policies. Is that to much to ask?

We voted it in,but the commission was found corrupt and only gave their friends (whom the commission has financial interest in) the grows to. It's became a huge cluster f&#k. Nobody can get it. Also there were two versions on the ballot. One gave the people the right to grow. The other gave the rights to the state. Two days before election they informed us that there weren't enough signatures on the petition. TOTALLY ILLEGAL. please help Arkansas. Maybe if the commission gets more national attention they'll give us our medicine!

Strict regulations are necessary to keep the bud clean. The reasons why not everyone can grow now is because of the cost of operations. prices per lb can run as low as $500 for decent bud so you have to make a lot of weight to pay for the yearly expenses, the cost of the licenses to grow are expensive and being lucky enough to having a property that you can grow on, startup grow that 1st year costs are going to be close to $500,000.
Strict regulations on testing is necessary. In the past I had heard of people growing 100’s of lbs a year and inject the plants with rat poison as a pesticide, another used ornamental(not for consumption) pesticide on their plants. they don’t care that it hurts people they just want $ and it’s competitive with these massive farms putting out ten of thousands of lb’s a year.
Also some people are highly allergic to mold so it can be very dangerous , I smoke a moldy bud and my lungs constrict and fill up with fluid making it difficulty to breath.
People should be able to grow for personal, the smell is a problem though and growing inside a neighborhood can be an issue for some people.
