Uh. yeah the cannabis laws are racist and worse than that. The 1937 Hemp Tax Act was based on racist rhetoric. There are ample examples of scary Hearst articles to prove the point. After Jim Crow laws were considered illegal and blacks could now vote, what could the poor white people do but impose laws that weren't so obviously racist?
The 1969 controlled substances act was also racist but was also created to enlarge the playing field…designed to imprison not only minorities (who tend to be Dems) but also the liberal hippies.
Just a little reading can show how these laws were made. Of course they can't tell you why- because that would be admitting the laws were illegally incarcerating millions of political prisoners over the years.

I actually think you bring up a very good point here in terms of who commits crime more. You see, black people do tend to commit more crimes. They claim that is because society has oppressed them…but maybe if they stop victim-status then they could rise up against this apparent oppression and change their lives around. But it is true that most of those who get arrested for pot are actually getting arrested for other crimes and then caught with pot on them. Maybe if they wouldn't bring their pot when they are doing their robbery and just smoke before they go out and leave it at home, they won't get caught for pot so much? That's what us white people do. We smoke it THEN go out and commit our robberies and murders.

I moved form Chicago a few months ago too Alaska, a legal pot state . I have had a vehicle seized in Chicago due to a roach in the ash tray. Their had been no smoking in the van,we always got out to do that, so the kids wouldn't smell it . not high when stopped either & it was so small it wasn't noticed until we got stopped by an officer who did a u-turn when he saw us. Not speeding ,proper tags ect. he had no reason to stop us other then skin tone. I've been arrested for a dime bag while on the bus stop, they just wanted to know what I was doing waiting on that bus. jump to Alaska,you can grow six plants in your home carry more than an once on your person, just dont smoke while driving, you can open carry your pistol and you can buy semiauto rifles at the grocery store,of course very few colored people here. I feel no race tension nor do I have to worry every time i see a officer and I have a joint on me.I can buy it in the weed shop down the street; I think of all the brothers locked up or spending time for weed related arrest,yes it is racist,no doubt in my mind.
Actually yes, Pot laws came from the racist mentality of Henry J Anslinger and others like him. This is a fact. Current laws have nothing to do with race. Just lies and sheer greed over the products industrial hemp can and WILL replace once fully legal. You have to remember, the real reason this ever started was over industrial hemp and how it would have ended the paper industry and oil as well. They knew this then.
