    First to comment! I'm improving!

And 14th to view, 3rd to Like. All prompter than my marks for the last video. (And I'm ending this silliness here and now before it gets to be a compulsion.)

  3. Guy Fella says:

I bet these are a hoot to watch while stoned

  4. robin bailes says:

Oh great, I got the name of the film wrong in the first line!

  5. Dan D Doty says:

MJ is mistaken for Meth . LSD , and Coke.  If it had been a true depiction of Weed , then it would have been two very, very boring movies ; like watching paint dry , but not nearly so thrilling.  The scene where all the girls are running naked was more like an ad to get guys to go out and buy it by the metric ton.

You want a movie to show the evil of Weed?  Just go out and film the endless parade of losers who've been sucking on a bong in their Mom's for the last twenty years since they dropped out of high school to take up being a professional Burn-Out.

  6. Shane Semler says:

A lot of these "educational" films were actually made to slip things past the production code censors, like nudity and other silacious content. I'm curious as to how seriously people at the time actually took these movies.

  7. Mysterysoup Productions says:

Cool cat saves the kids. In one scene he tells a kid to look both ways before crossing the road. What does he do next? He bolts across the road without looking both ways!

  8. Double - U says:

You should review 'The Devil Hunter' (1980)

  9. Eye Toldyoosso says:

3500…..do a drink movie and it will double….;-p

  10. Carson Albrecht says:

Not a movie but an anime series called "Another" (yes even the title is terrible).

It is supposed to be a Horror/Mystery hybrid and succeeds for the first couple episodes because it has decent atmosphere, and it is impossible to tell what is going on.

Then the show drops a load of exposition that basically amounts to: Someone is carrying a curse that is causing all the strange deaths, but they don't know it. Also the curse erases all evidence that might indicate who has it, even to the point of rewriting preexisting memories. The only way to know that someone was cursed is to kill them and see if the strange deaths stop.

Actually that's not true. At the end the main heroine reveals she could have found the cursed person at any time, and just decided not to. Then we're supposed to be glad that she gets a happy ending.

So basically its a mystery show that actively tells you that you cannot solve the mystery, until the plot decides to do it for you. If that's not pointless I don't know what is.

  11. Raven House Mystery says:

It is interesting to note that these films were probably made with the best of intentions, but the filmmakers themselves didn't seem to know anything about the real affects of these drugs. The side effect of "uncontrollable laughter" is what makes "Reefer Madness" such a hilarious film to watch.
Now, if there was a message about drinking alcohol being bad in "Animal House", that message missed by a mile. Not only does "Animal House" seem to make alcohol drinking a college requirement (at least, that's what I thought my freshman year), but Pre-Med student Bluto (John Belushi) gives us the classic of all prescriptions, "My advice to you, start drinking heavily.":-)

That Lila Leeds was good looking girl, but Wow bad finger nails.

  15. Mot Chraighe says:

Please do (Curse of the Demon) 1957

  16. Rinoa Super-Genius says:

Its funny that hollywood would make anti-drug movies given how many drugs those people do. lol

  17. Fritz Fassbender says:

Who needs Devil's Weed when you have Dark Corners? In the 1930's you would have been punished for all the laughter you create.

As has been said, there's a whole marvelous slew of films from the 30's, 40's and 50's that are 100% Pure Exploitation (and meant as such), which got past censors by being presented as "morality tales", which means "show it, but no one gets away with it".

My personal favorite of these is "Cocaine Fiends" (also a VERY early Dark Corners review), a movie where the characters are so stupid they actually comment about it to each other.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who is taunted by his bathroom faucet.

  18. Chad Castagana says:

MARIJUANA Devils Weed – – – wasn't that the name of a 1930's film as well? What about The Cocaine Fiends?
Lots of female nudity for a 1950's film, but then again starlets have always been slutty
