THCa is nonactive THC. THCa converts to THC over time (decarboxylation) or when heated to around 220 degrees. There really is no reason to buy THCa as it is non psychoactive and wont have an effect unless heated to the proper temperature first. That explains why you didn't get as high as you thought you would.
