Afghanistan as a nation has failed.. individuals like Capt or the IED guy can only do their part.. but eventually it’s up to the entire Afghan nation to civilise itself .
In Pak we had Taliban .. they took over Swat & FATA (autonomous tribal areas bordering Afghanistan).. today they are nowhere .. they are 5ft under or have fled into Afghanistan.. why? Because of our nation and institutions.. both in case of Afghanistan are corrupt.. specially it’s govt institutions.. thanks to the continuous conflict this country has had.. most of which can be credited to global powers .. first the USSR and than US (during Cold War and Afghan jihad).

The war in Afghanistan is taking a terrible toll on civilians and has no end in sight.
I have no answer to the security of the cities and town's being over run by the Taliban.
It does break your heart to see children thrown into the chaos of war zones.

I think that Americans are weary of a war that has gone on for to long and cost lives and money.
Unfortunately the brave man who had been wounded so many times and dismantled so many IED S was killed in Afghanistan.
I don't know if the afganistans have a Medal of Honor but he definitely deserves one.
